How does it work?

Both systems will deposit your rebate directly into your cheque or savings account within two to three working days (sometimes even sooner).
If your doctor’s surgery uses the internet claiming system, your rebate will be paid into your nominated cheque or savings account within two to three working days (sometimes even sooner). Register your bank account details now using Online Services. You only need to register your bank account details once. There is no need for you to provide this information again when you make a claim.
If your doctor’s surgery uses the EFTPOS based claiming system—using your EFTPOS card—your rebate will be paid almost immediately. All you need to do is take your Medicare and EFTPOS cards with you next time you visit your doctor.
