Getting Status . .

Interpreting the status page

The status page is intended to be used as a diagnosis tool in the event of problems transmitting to Medicare Australia. When visiting the status page, you will see one of three scenarios:

  • a green light and the message eBusiness Service Available
  • a red light and the message eBusiness Service Unavailable
  • no page displayed

Green Light

If a green light is displayed you know that:

  1. There is connectivity between your pharmacy and Medicare Australia . This means your pharmacy's ISP is available and Medicare Australia's ISP is available; AND
  2. Medicare Australia's eBusiness Services are operating.

In this case you should be able to transmit claims to Medicare Australia . If you still experience difficulties please call Medicare Australia on 132 290.

Red Light

If a red light is displayed you know that:

  1. There is connectivity between your pharmacy and Medicare Australia. This means that your pharmacy’s ISP is available and Medicare Australia’s ISP is available; AND
  2. Medicare Australia’s eBusiness Services are currently not operating.

In this case you should wait five minutes and then click the Refresh button on the Status Page. If the Status Page is still reporting a red light, please call Medicare Australia on 132 290.

Status Page is not displayed

If the Status Page cannot be displayed, you know that:

  1. There is a connectivity problem between your pharmacy and Medicare Australia.

This could be caused by your internet connection not working. Please check that you are connected to your ISP and that your ISP is currently up. If you are connected and your ISP is up please call Medicare Australia on 132 290.
