Pharmacy allowances

Pharmacy Start-up Allowance
The Pharmacy Start-up Allowance was provided by the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement and was introduced to encourage the establishment of new pharmacies in remote locations.
Under this initiative, eligible pharmacists received up to $100,000, comprised of three payments over a two year period.
Pharmacy Succession Allowance
The Pharmacy Succession Allowance was provided by the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement and was introduced to encourage the retention of existing pharmacies where there was a need for a community pharmacy in a rural and remote location.
Under this initiative, eligible pharmacists could receive up to $60 000, comprised of up to three payments over a two year period. The allowance was paid to eligible pharmacists in established approved pharmacy premises.
