Practice Incentives Program (PIP) - change practice details
It is important that Medicare Australia holds accurate information on all practices in the PIP. Practices are required to advise Medicare Australia within 14 days of any changes in practice arrangements. Failure to notify Medicare Australia of changes may result in practice payments being reduced, or a practice's continuing eligibility for the PIP being affected.
All changes should be notified to Medicare Australia, in writing, by the practice owner or authorised contact person. Notifications will be accepted by mail or fax. This must be done in addition to informing any other sections of Medicare Australia of changes.
One simple way to make sure practice information is current, is to check the details listed on your quarterly payment advices. The payment advice shows the provider numbers used to calculate the payment and the incentives which the practice has qualified for. This information is based on the information supplied to Medicare Austalia by the practice.
