National Compliance Program
Department of Human Services Compliance Program 2012-13
The Compliance Program outlines key compliance activities the Department of Human Services will undertake for the 2012–13 financial year. It also highlights the diversity and range of compliance activities we undertake and reassures both the government and customers that the department is taking preventative measures to protect the integrity of its payments and services, as well as government outlays.
Most people are honest and want to do the right thing. However, some people don't fulfil their obligations. Not complying with obligations can be as simple as failing to report income or assets, or as complex as health professionals incorrectly using a provider number.
Our focus is to educate people and provide them with the information they need to comply and meet their obligations. We are committed to reducing debt and establishing early interventions to support compliance.
