Search HI provider directory service for individual
You can use the Healthcare Provider Directory to look up the details of other healthcare providers participating in the HI Service, by using either their unique identifier or demographic details. This will help facilitate communication, such as sending secure referrals, discharge summaries and test requests for patients. This guide will take you through the steps on how to search for and retrieve details for a healthcare provider.
Go to the HI homepage by selecting Healthcare Identifiers in the HPOS Main Menu.
The Where are you? page will display. Choose which health care provider organisation you are currently accessing the HI Service on behalf of.
The Healthcare identifiers page will display. Select Search HI provider directory service for individual from the list of services available.
The Search HI provider directory service for individual (provider) page will display. Enter the HPI-I number if known or select the Demographic search radio button to enter more details.
Once you have entered all relevant information, select Search to locate the healthcare provider individual or Clear to clear all input.
If all validations are met, the information of the healthcare provider individual will display. Follow the instructions on the top of the page to proceed.
Note: the system does not require an exact match of the search criteria entered and can display up to 50 results.
If all validations are not met, an error message will display providing the option to refine your search.
Select Refine search. The Search HI provider directory service for individual (provider) page will display with all previously entered information. Follow the instructions on the top of the page to proceed.
Note: Public Officers/Responsible Officers and Organisation Maintenance Roles/Organisation Maintenance Officer information is not displayed within the search results.
