Online Education for Health Professionals

A range of education resources are available to help health professionals understand their obligations when working with the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

Easy to use, interactive and free of charge—eLearning is the flexible learning option for busy health professionals. Programs include introductory to advanced MBS and PBS topics to help you get it right.

To undertake an eLearning program, select one of the links.

A self-paced introductory program for all new health professionals. This program includes seven modules, each taking between five and 20 minutes to complete.

A self paced introductory program for all health professionals new to prescribing PBS medicine.

This should be completed before attempting the following PBS modules:

  • Prescribing in public hospitals — a module designed to support health professionals prescribing PBS medicine in public hospitals.
  • Prescribing in private practice — a module designed to support health professionals prescribing PBS medicine in private practice.
