What is the Health Professional Online Services?
Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) offers you improved access to Medicare Australia's (provider) online services via a single entry point. HPOS records information about health professionals whose services directly or indirectly interact with Medicare Australia.
HPOS provides access to information concerning your identity; eligibility under Medicare arrangement; and information necessary for the processing and payment of Medicare claims. In addition, HPOS provides you with services accessible through the Internet in real-time.
Medicare Australia is committed to providing its customers and stakeholders with a range of options for accessing our services, including online access. To continue this commitment, we will be progressively expanding the information and services that you can access through HPOS.
Services available with the HPOS PKI logon
The HPOS PKI logon, which is the first logon on the top right, will provide you with access to:

- ACIR
- Medicare Services
- National Bowel Cancer Screening Program
- Patient Verification
- Prescription Shopping Information Program
- Email facility
- Forms

- Administrative Position Statements
- Education
Are you an ACIR user / ACIR ancillary with PKI Individual Certificate user?
The ACIR logon, which is the second logon on the top right, will provide you with access to:
- ACIR only
Are you a Hearing Services eClaiming user?
The Hearing Services eClaiming logon, which is the third logon on the top right, will provide you with access to:
- Hearing Services eClaiming only
Are you a Practice Staff member?
The Practice Staff logon, which is the fourth logon on the top right, will provide you with access to:
- Patient Verification only
