What is the Health Professional Online Services?
Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) offers you improved access to Medicare Australia's online services for health professionals through a single entry point.
HPOS provides access to information on your eligibility for Medicare and information necessary for the processing and payment of your claims. In addition HPOS services are in real-time.
Medicare Australia is committed to providing health professionals with a range of options for accessing our services. We will continue to enhance HPOS with information and services that make it easier for you to do business with us.
Services available with a PKI individual certificate
The PKI individual certificate logon, will provide you with access to:
- Approved Pathology Collection Centre search
- ACIR (excluding administrative users)
- Medicare services
- National Bowel Cancer Screening Program
- Patient Verification
- Prescription Shopping Information Program

- view patient care plan history.
Are you an ACIR user / ACIR ancillary with PKI Individual Certificate user?
The ACIR logon, which is the second logon on the top right, will provide you with access to:
- ACIR only
Are you a Hearing Services eClaiming user?
The Hearing Services eClaiming logon, which is the third logon on the top right, will provide you with access to:
- Hearing Services eClaiming only
Are you logging on with a PKI location certificate?
The PKI location certificate logon will provide you with access to:
- Patient Verification only
