Veterans Treatment Accounts
Medicare Australia has been processing veterans' treatment accounts for entitled persons on behalf of the Department of Veterans' Affairs
(DVA) since December 1996. These accounts include medical, hospital and allied health services.
A veterans' eligibility is determined by DVA which issues a veteran with a gold or white card
, depending on the level of entitlement they have been granted. Orange cards are for pharmaceutical benefits only.
